Durham Road

A complete renovation and extension of a family home in Wimbledon. A key priority of the project was to create a greater physical and visual connection to the extensive garden, something missing from the existing arrangement. This lack of connection is rectified through the provision of a new kitchen / dining space at the rear of the house that opens onto a landscaped terrace and the wider garden beyond. Extensions to both first and second floor provided the opportunity for a series of generous double bedrooms with large new windows and Juliette Balconies allowing views over the garden. Externally the extension is designed to provide a contemporary reinterpretation of the art’s and crafts style of the original house. Internally, details such as the bespoke furniture, Oak skirtings and window reveals lend the house a warmth and crafted feel. Harp & Harp provided a full service including, architecture, interior and kitchen design.

Selected as one of London’s best homes extensions in ‘Don’t Move Improve’ 2018
