Sutton Green Cafe

A conversion of a former disused Public Conveniences into a new Cafe in a prominent position on Sutton Green. Large glazed doors are proposed on the north elevation, allowing the cafe to fully open onto a new outdoor terrace and seating area overlooking the adjacent children’s play park. The building’s inherent charm is reinvigorated through small interventions such as new brightly coloured timber windows and planters and subtle changes to the fenestration. The proposed interior design references the building’s former use with glazed ceramic tiling to the walls. Harp & Harp’s proposal for the old Public Conveniences seeks to breathe fresh life into a forgotten but much loved feature of the local area with completion due in the new year.
