This project involved the restoration and extension of a 19th-century property in Mitcham that had been in a state of disrepair for a number of years. Internally the house has been reconfigured for modern family living, with a new kitchen and dining space and a centrally located bathroom replacing the original lean-to WC at the rear.
In line with the clients’ ambitions, the whole property has been sensitively restored, with new elements designed to sit comfortably alongside the existing Victorian house and share its sense of quality. A new walnut joinery feature, incorporating banquette seating to the dining space, marks where the extension begins. Harp & Harp provided a full service including architecture, interior and kitchen design.
