Harp & Harp undertook a full renovation, remodelling and extension of an Edwardian cottage on the charming Sutton Garden Suburb estate in South London. Set around a beautifully preserved green, the house had retained substantial period character but was tired and unloved after many decades.

Working closely with our client, we designed a rear and side extension and a loft conversion, whilst also remodelling the whole house for modern family living. A new kitchen and dining space opens to the rear garden, a new bathroom sits on the ground floor, and an additional bedroom is set within the loft. Harp & Harp also provided a complete interior design service, including bespoke kitchen and bathroom design.

The result is a contemporary family home that brings back the cottage feel of the original Edwardian house, fore-fronting its retained period character and contrasting it with bold colour and material choices that feel rich and warm.
