A new block of nine homes replaces a semi-detached pair of houses on a well-connected site on Morden Road, a short walk from South Wimbledon station. The site’s open outlook across the neighbouring pub car park allowed us to give every one of the nine units a dual aspect, flooding each home with natural light.
The architecture is robust and joyful. Its massing and playful brick detailing take their cue from the finely detailed Victorian brickwork of the surrounding streets: warm buff stock offset by deep red brick to the base and entrance bay, with diamond and circular openings and projecting brick balconies.
